Fitzgerald & Co. is a sole proprietorship launched in April 2001 by Susan Fitzgerald. The company specializes in agricultural association administration and project management.
Susan has worked in the Ontario agriculture industry for over 30 years with experience including the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the crop input industry, and as a self-employed project manager. She is the Executive Director or Executive Administrator for 10 agricultural associations: the Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Program, the Poultry Service Association, the Ontario Hatcheries Association, the Ontario Livestock and Poultry Council, the Presidents’ Council, the Canadian Global Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (CgFARAD™), the Canadian Association of Swine Veterinarians, the Western Canadian Association of Swine Veterinarians, the Ontario Livestock Transporters’ Alliance, and the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame. Her individual projects cover a variety of activities including emergency management, biosecurity, developing human resource and educational resources, and meeting facilitation.
In addition to Susan, Erin Burton and Daina McMurray are Client Managers. Daina oversees the Ontario Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) certification program. This involves assisting individuals interested in becoming a CCA as well as managing the continuing education component and renewal aspect. In addition, she organizes and runs conferences and workshops and looks after social media including website updates and maintenance. Erin also works with the Ontario CCA Program and is the staff lead on a collaboration agreement with the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association. She is developing and delivering training and educational resources for CCAs and other agronomists in support of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund and also promoting an expansion of the Farmland Health Check-Up program.
Jennifer Mitchell also provides services as a Client Manager. Jennifer is the staff lead for the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame, the Western Canadian Association of Swine Veterinarians, the Canadian Meat Science Association, and the Ontario Association of Equine Practitioners. She provides both financial and administrative oversight to these clients. She is proficient in Excel and QuickBooks accounting packages. Prior to joining the office, Jennifer has had an extensive background of administrative work for agricultural organizations.
We also have a network of professionals with specific skills who provide expertise on an as-needed basis such as graphic artwork, videography, French translation and statistical analysis.
